MDA Fundraiser

Dear Brethren,
Being away doesn’t mean I won’t be part of the meeting. Therefore, through our Brother Secretary or Brother Junior Warden to you, I want to express my deepest thanks for your support during Peninsula #168 MDA Fund Raising.
This is new territory for our lodge in recent years but not uncharted territory. Historically, lodges have provided charitable support and contribution to their local communities. This was not different for Peninsula #168.
However, with the memberships escaping not the unsparing ravages of the hour scythe, the involvement in the community has been reduced to its spare minimum.
Today, Peninsula Lodge #168 has risen again in the community. We have not only taken onto the challenge to be more visible but we did it with great success.
I have asked Brother Chris Smith to give you the breakdown of the numbers. The important point is that we raised $1,925 as of today which is 20% above our original goal of $1,600.00. All this in honor of Peninsula #168.
This amount will sent local children with MDA to summer camp. That is the immediate reward. The future reward will be a better and positive recognition in the community. We have reached into the profane world and hopefully will collect the fruit of its effort with an increase interest in memberships.
At the MDA Lock-Up event, Peninsula #168 was recognized as one of the Top 10 contributors. Well, it was not too Masonic to be proud, but I was when MDA acknowledged our efforts and recognized us as a key member of the community.
I want again to THANK YOU for your individual commitment to make this initiative a success. I promised you some changes and new projects, well we are well under way!
Oh and one last thing, you have safely escaped my French impersonation of Jerry Lewis - lucky you!

Sincerely and Fraternally,
Sebastien Taveau
