Dear Brethren,
Let’s start with plenty of joyful announcements.
First, I want to congratulate Worshipful Theodore Adelbert Korosy on being our 2008 recipient of the Hiram Award.  Wor. Korosy, while retired from the line of Officers, has always been there to lend a strong support and help during degrees and other duties of the lodge. His dedication to Freemasonry has been proven over the past 48 years. For me, my favorite part is, his ability to fill in any chair on short notice and to never complain about it.  The official presentation will be at our August family dinner.
Secondly, our recipient for last year is also being honored again.
Bro.Vernon Barrwill receive the Rob Morris Award from the Eastern  Star. Congrats Vern!
Thirdly, our Rainbow Girls Assembly #16 distinguished themselves again during Grand Assembly with 2 new Grand Assembly Officers. Peninsula 168 is honored to have such a dynamic and recognized Chapter within our Lodge.
And lastly, I want to acknowledge the talent of our four Scholarships recipients for displaying such impressive academic achievements and community dedication. It was an excellent event and dinner celebrating our Youth.
CONGRATULATIONS to each recipient of these honorable awards    This month, we will have a 3rd Degree. Please help Brother Greene in lining up the degree team.
As a reminder to all the Officers, please remember that when you join the line, it requires dedication and hard work for your fellow  Officers and to yourself. While we are sailing through this year, I
want to request again from all the Officers the commitment to the
Lodge schedule.  It is important to show respect and courtesy to your fellow Officers by filling in your part.  And also, start thinking
about next year and the following ones.  Where will you see yourself
as an Officer and as a Mason?  I look forward discussing the above with all of you individually or as a group.
On the Historical side, the 150th anniversary for Peninsula #168 is coming very fast. We should plan on collecting information right now.
Please contact Jim Dillaman or myself so that we can record our
history and use it in preparation of this important milestone.
And again, we are planning for July to work on the 2nd  floor of the
lodge. Brethren with expertise in renovating/construction are more
than welcome to volunteer!

Brethren,
April was another great food month. A fantastic stated meeting dinner prepared by Brother Vern – thanks Vern! Italian food for Scholarship Night – I know you all enjoyed it: the leftovers disappeared completely!  Dessert was prepared by Dianda’s Bakery in San Mateo, just in case
We will of course have a dinner before the May stated meeting. Although the menu hasn’t been decided, it will definitely be a fine meal.  June is another story. Brother Patrick Farjas will be preparing our June stated meeting dinner – reservations are required by 30 May.  The family dinner for June will be at Su Hong in Menlo Park and reservations are due by 6 June.  Reservations will be strictly  observed, as we are limited to 50 people.

S&F,
Dr. Chris D. Smith

Future Dinner Summary:
