In the year 2013, we celebrate 150 years of our lodge. That sounds a long time away, but we need to begin now to update our history so we'll be ready when that day comes. We need to merge history from San Carlos Lodge and Redwood City Lodge. Many of you have been members of these lodges for years and have knowledge and memories of times and events that helped make our Peninsula Lodge. That knowledge and those events need to be recorded for posterity. We need to fill in those years so those coming after us will know who we were and what we accomplished and the fun times everyone experienced while accomplishing all we have done. I have a couple tape recorders that can be loaned out. You can just sit back at home and talk; telling what you remember of those times and we'll be able to take bits and pieces of those conversations and hopefully prepare a history that we can all be proud to pass on to future generations. Could I have names of any of you willing to help? If each of you keep a recorder for a two week period, we can pass them on to other brothers and we'll be able to compile the information in a short period of time. In November, before our Thanksgiving dinner, I'd like to meet with you before the dinner for a very brief period. I'll have a few tape recorders to loan at that time. If any of you have a recorder you'd be willing to let us use, please contact me. It would be a big help. Looking forward to seeing you in Chantler Hall before our dinner. If you have any questions, call me at 650-366-0345.
