From The East

As we approach the end of the year, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.

We will be installing the 2019 Officers on December 8th at 11:00 AM. Come on out and celebrate with us.

There will many exciting changes through 2019 to add more fun and fellowship to the Lodge. Stay tuned.

In 2019 we will also be starting education classes for those who wish to learn more about Freemasonry and it’s arcane symbolism. Dan Christoffel and I will host it.

And finally, the computerized Masonic education system is in operation. Have you used it yet? It is free and you might learn something you did not know before.

See you soon.

Sincerely and fraternally,
Joe Lucchesi

Happy December and I hope your holidays for this season are wonderful and joyous!

I want to thank all of you for (once again!) putting your faith in me to be Worshipful Master for 2019. As Master of our Lodge, I’d like to propose that we support a charitable organization that I’ve had some experience with over the past year. The organization is the California Dental Association Foundation, or “CDA Foundation”. Each year, twice in the year, they organize “CDA Cares Volunteer Dental Program.”

From their website (,

“An estimated 10 million Californians experience barriers to dental care. The California Dental Association and CDA Foundation host CDA Cares, a program that allows volunteer dentists, with the assistance of other dental professionals and community volunteers, to provide dental services at no charge to an average of 1,950 people at each event. “Through CDA Cares, efforts to educate the public and policymakers about the importance of good oral health and the need for an adequately funded dental safety net are having an impact. Thanks in large part to advocacy associated with CDA Cares events, the state fully restored adult Denti-Cal benefits in 2017 after eliminating and then partially restoring them in previous years. While this is a positive step for the Denti-Cal program, multiple barriers to dental care remain and CDA Cares serves as a safety net for many people needing relief from the pain and infection of untreated dental disease.” Having the opportunity to volunteer for two of their events last year, I feel that this would be a worthwhile effort for us, as Masons, to support. For the patients in need, the free help offered by this organization is life altering. Participation in the events is totally voluntary, since it will require travel to c ouple of places in California, as well as a lot of walking during the time you will volunteer.

Again, I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season and let’s make 2019 memorable for all!

Fraternally yours,
David M Patterson, PM

The recent events in California reminds us the importance of being prepared for unfortunate events and more importantly, our responsibilities of relief. As we come into the holiday season, let us remember the tenants of our fraternity and put into practice those invaluable lessons.
